Hauturiere (Paul) goes for the mares novice chase over 2m 4f. She was an easy winner over 2m 6f at Limerick last time and, with the expected rain, the drop back in trip here shouldn’t inconvenience her. She looks to hold a strong chance of following up her Limerick win.
We have four in the Grade 2 Chase over 2m 4f. Allaho (Paul) had a hard race in the King George but seems fine at home since. He won this race in 2021 and 2022 and is suited by the race conditions. Hopefully he will have the measure of these rivals and get back on track. Appreciate It (Danny) may have found the trip too far in the Savills Chase so we are dropping him back here to see how he performs. Capodanno (Mark Walsh) ran very well when third in the Savills. He is a big galloping sort and might find this trip too short and the track a bit sharp. Stattler (Brian Hayes) won’t be suited if the forecast rain arrives but we will get an indication of where to point him for the rest of the season.
We have two runners in the W T O’Grady Memorial 2m 6f Novice Hurdle. High Class Hero (Paul) has had a little break after a busy summer/autumn campaign. He is suited by the race conditions and has every chance of winning today before going across the water in March. What Path (Danny) would prefer better ground and every drop of rain will diminish his chance.
