MacDermott (Paul) runs in the 2 mile beginners chase. He drops back in trip after disappointing over 2m 4f at Down Royal last time. He will need to leave that run behind if he is to figure here.
Spread Boss Ted (Paul) goes for the novice hurdle over 2m 4f. He won his maiden over 2 miles at Navan last month and the step up in trip today will really suit. With just three opponents this looks like an ideal opportunity to go in again.
Mirazur West (Mark Walsh) runs in the 2 mile maiden hurdle. He ran too freely when second on his hurdling debut at Leopardstown over Christmas but with that experience behind him he should be very hard to beat here.
We have two runners in the mares maiden hurdle over 2m 4f. Jolie Coeur Allen (Mark Walsh) was third over 2 miles at Limerick last time. A combination of different riding tactics and the extra half a mile will hopefully bring about the required improvement. Spindleberry (Paul) is making her hurdling debut but she won a point to point so jumping shouldn’t be a problem. This is a tough task for her as she hasn’t run since last May.
We have three in the 2m 4f maiden hurdle. Maroto (Rachael Blackmore) is having his first run and we will know more about where we are going with him after today. The Electrical Kid (Sean O’Keeffe) was sixth in a maiden at Limerick at Christmas and needs to improve significantly if he is to win today. O’Moore Park (Paul) looks to have the best chance of the three. He was having his first run of the season when third here last month and we are expecting a lot of improvement today. This looks likea nice opportunity to get off the mark over hurdles.
