Galway 2nd August

We have two runners in the 1m 4f QR Maiden. Ninth Loch (Jody) won a bumper at Kilbeggan last time but will need to improve hugely to have any chance here. Winter Fog (Patrick) has some very useful form over hurdles and will be suited by this ground. However, the 106-rated Up And Under will be very hard to beat.

We also run two in the 2 mile flat handicap. Mr Escobar (Chris Hayes) ran well when fifth over 1m 4f at the Curragh last time and will like this ground. The extra half a mile is also in his favour. Immelmann (Rachael Blackmore) ran a decent race over 2 miles at the Curragh but we are a little worried about the ground for him today.

We have five runners in the Galway Plate Handicap over 2m 6f. Kilcruit (Paul) has been put aside for this race and will go on the ground. We are expecting a big run. Easy Game (Patrick) was second to Royal Rendezvous in this race two years ago but he prefers nice underfoot conditions so the ground has to be a concern. Ciel De Neige (Mark Walsh) will like the ground and this trip won’t be a problem. Authorized Art (Danny) will handle the ground and ran well when sixth in a flat handicap at Leopardstown last time.  Fighter Allen (Brian Hayes) has a lovely racing weight and will go on the ground. He has a good each-way chance if he handles this track.

We have three making their hurdling debuts in the 2m 5f maiden hurdle. All The Others (Danny) won a 2m 4f bumper at Listowel and will be suited by this trip and ground. Alvaniy (Brian Hayes) is having his first run for us. He jumps well and goes on the ground but will have to improve if he is to beat his stable companions. Paul has picked High Class Hero who will handle the ground and trip and has won a point to point so his jumping shouldn’t be a problem.

We’llhavewan (Patrick) goes for the 2m 6f handicap hurdle. He won a 2 mile handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe last time and we don’t think the longer trip here will inconvenience him. He’ll have no trouble with the ground and should go close.
