Gowran 25th January

Captain Cody (Jody) runs in the Ladies Maiden Hurdle over 2m 4f. This is his first time over hurdles but he is a natural jumper and has point to point experience. He will love this trip and he looks the one to beat.

It’s great to have Monkfish (Paul) back on the track for the 3 mile Galmoy Hurdle. He hasn’t run since last April so he might lack track fitness. He’s probably better watched today.

We will have three runners in the Thyestes Handicap Chase over 3m 1f. Bronn (Daryl Jacob) has to shoulder top weight but he is built to carry it. He will stay this trip. Ontheropes (Sean O’Keeffe) will appreciate the trip but would need to improve a bit. Glengouly (Paul) has a chance. He is a course winner and has a lovely weight. This trip and ground will be okay for him.

We run four in the competitive beginners chase over 2m 4f. Figaroc (Brian Hayes) needs to improve on his chasing debut effort behind Gaelic Warrior at Punchestown. Ho My Lord (Jody McGarvey) was still going well when unseating two out at Leopardstown but mightn’t be in love with this very testing ground. Spanish Harlem (Danny) was third behind Blood Destiny on his chasing debut at Naas and will need to show improvement if he is to get involved here. Tactical Move (Paul) is probably the best of ours. He ran really well when second to Nick Rockett on his chasing debut and will love this trip and ground.
