We have two runners in the 2 mile conditions hurdle. Quai De Bourbon (Paul) won a maiden at Naas last month over 2m 3f. It’s not ideal coming back in trip here but he has improved since Naas and we are expecting him to be good enough to win again today. Westport Cove (Mikey O’Sullivan) was very free and didn’t do himself any favours when pulling up at Leopardstown at Christmas. We are going to employ a complete change of tactics today. We’re not sure that this track will suit but he should go well if the change of tactics works.
We also have two in the mares maiden hurdle over 2 miles. Enola (Paul) was fourth on her hurdling debut at Cork and has improved hugely at home since. She has every chance of getting off the mark over hurdles today. Implicit (Brian Hayes) found the ground and trip too much at Limerick and the drop in trip today will be a help. She needs more practice before she can show her full potential.
We have two declared for the 2 mile maiden hurdle. Jimmy Du Seuil (Paul) ran a great race when second at Thurles on his hurdling debut. Hopefully, a reproduction of that run will suffice here. Surf Club (Sean O’Keeffe) is an 8yo and has had his training problems. This experience will do him good.
