Punchestown 4th May

Handicap Chase 3m 7f

Ontheropes (Brian Hayes) ran well when fourth in the Scottish Grand National last time but has a big task here having to give weight away all around.

Klarc Kent (Paul) was a place ahead of Ontheropes at Ayr and Paul has picked him from the two here. He will like the ground and must have a decent chance.

Grade 1 Mares Champion Hurdle 2m 4f

Ashroe Diamond (Patrick) was very disappointing at Cheltenham and needs to put her best foot forward if she is to be concerned here.

Gala Marceau (Danny) will appreciate it if the ground dries out and at her best would have a chance.

Lossiemouth (Paul) is suited by the race conditions and likes this track. She’s in good form at home and should see off this opposition.

Listed Handicap Chase 3 miles

Glengouly (Paul) ran well enough in the Grand National and will have no trouble with this ground or the trip.

Spanish Harlem (Danny) was sixth in the Scottish Grand National last time and that gives  him a nice chance here.

Grade 1 Champion 4YO Hurdle 2 miles

Batman Girac (Mikey O’Sullivan) isn’t an easy ride and is probably best watched here.

Bunting (Sean O’Keeffe) was disappointing when seventh in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham but hopefully this track will suit him better.

Highwind (Mark Walsh) was also disappointing at Cheltenham but he has the advantage of being a course and distance winner here.

Storm Heart (Danny) is also a course and distance winner and was fifth in the Triumph and should go very well today.

Kargese (Paul) ran a fantastic when second to Sir Gino at Aintree but did have a hard race. She seems well at home and we’re expecting a big run.

Miss Manzor (Rachael Blackmore) was third at Fairyhouse last time and needs to find significant improvement if she is to get involved at the business end.

Listed Handicap Hurdle 2m 4f

Olympic Man (Paul) ran very well over 2m 7f at Fairyhouse and won’t be inconvenienced by the drop in trip today. We’ll be disappointed if he’s not in the shake up.

Risk Belle (Aidan Kelly) was fifth over 2 miles at Fairyhouse last time and her rider’s 5lb claim puts her  in with a chance today.

Chapeau De Soleil (Brian Hayes) won well at Navan in March but probably needs to improve again here.

Pink In The Park (Kieran Callaghan) is a course winner and has her chance if the ground dries out.

Gold Dancer (Sean O’Keeffe) hasn’t come into form yet but we think there is a lot of improvement to come from him.

Ocastle Des Mottes (Danny) will like the trip but was disappointing at Aintree last time.

Stoke The Fire (Mark McDonogh) won easily at Perth last week and has a lovely racing weight here.

Lawlor’s Of Naas Bumper 2 miles

Chart Topper (Patrick) is a horse we like. He’s done everything we have asked of him at home and if the rain stays away he could make a perfect start to his career.
