Punchestown 30th April

Redmills Auction Series Final 2m. 3f. 58yds Hurdle

We run a new recruit called Ellis Mor (Brian Hayes). He was owned by a great racing character, Peter Foxe, who sadly passed away recently. Lets hope he puts up a good show.

Louis Fitzgerald Hotel Hurdle 2m. 3f. 58yds

Kaid D’authie (Mark Walsh) pulled up at Cheltenham where things just didn’t go right for him. This trip might be a little short but he should be competitive.

Got Glory (Paul) fell two out when travelling well at Clonmel and looks a winner without a penalty here. She has every chance of being right there at the finish.

Grade 1 Novice Hurdle 2m. 7f. 192yds

Jasmin De Vaux (Paul) won the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham and is improving all the time. He’s come out of that race well and we’ll be disappointed if he’s not in the shake-up.

Argento Boy (Danny) has disappointed since winning his maiden here and is probably best watched.

Jarrive De Mee (Patrick) is relatively unexposed and will be suited by this track. He’s well able to jump but needs a career best to win.

Luckinthecity (Sean O’Keeffe) has had a break since falling at Cork last December. He is really a spring/summer ground horse and is best watched today.

Grade 1 Champion Bumper 2m. 132yds

Bambino Fever (Jody) won the Cheltenham eqivalent and looks the part here. She was very impressive when winning here first time out and today’s ground will suit. She’s the one to beat.

Copacabana (Patrick) is a big winter chase type individual so we will have to see how the ground is for him on the day. He has a lot of ground to find with Bambino Fever on their Cheltenham runs.

Grade 1 Punchestown Gold Cup 3m. 213yds

Galopin Des Champs (Paul) has finished second in this race for the last two years and it is probably fair to say that it is not his favourite track. However, it is the big race of the week and, if he puts his best foot forward, he could go one better this time around.

Grade 3 Handicap Chase 2m. 4f. 80yds

Blue Lord (Paul) is a course winner and seems to be coming back to himself. With Paul in the plate and the addition of first-time cheek pieces he has a great chance.

James du Berlais (J J Slevin) always runs well but sometimes just doesn’t get home. He can’t be discounted over a trip that will suit.

Adamantly Chosen (Brian Hayes) didn’t figure in the Topham at Aintree and has had a busy season. This is his trip and ground but he is hard to fancy.

Weatherbys Mares Grade 3 Bumper 2m. 132yds

Future Prospect (Patrick) has lots of talent but can be her own worst enemy. She needs to learn to settle and might need hurdles to be seen at her best
