Punchestown 2nd May

Handicap Hurdle 2 miles

Judicieuse Allen (Paul) drops in trip here and will appreciate the drying ground. However, she needs to leave her last run at Fairyhouse behind if she is to have a chance.

Listed Handicap Chase 2 miles

Saint Roi (Aidan Kelly) has to shoulder top-weight but he ran well at Aintree last time and has his chance.

Paul has picked Blood Destiny who is having his first run in a handicap chase. He will appreciate the ground and trip and has been pleasing us on the gallops.

Uncle Phil (Danny) needs a sound surface and the ground here is just coming right for him.

Figaroc (Brian Hayes) needs to improve a lot to get involved.

Grade 1 Novice Chase 2 miles

Gaelic Warrior (Paul) won the Arkle over this trip at Cheltenham in March and is unbeaten going right-handed. He looks rock solid here.

Hercule Du Seuil (Mark Walsh) is a course winner and was fourth at Aintree last month. He would probably need a career best to win today.

Il Etait Temps (Danny) was very good when winning at Aintree and could pick up the pieces if Gaelic Warrior fluffs his lines.

Grade 1 Champion Stayers Hurdle 2m 7f

Asterion Forlonge (Paul) was second in this race last year and a similar placing today would be great.

Monkfish (Patrick) likes it here and didn’t run too badly at Aintree last time.

Listed Handicap Hurdle 2m 7f

Captain Cody (Paul) goes up in trip after winning well over 2m 4f at Fairyhouse last time. He should run very well.

O’Moore Park (Danny) would need a career best to figure.

Chosen Witness (Sean O’Keeffe) takes his chance here as he likes this track and ground.

What Path (Brian Hayes) needs good ground and has a decent chance if the rain stays away.

Listed Mares Novice Hurdle 2 miles

Implicit (Brian Hayes) She is a dual winner this season and will appreciate the ground.

Got Glory (Danny) She won her maiden very easily at Naas and has huge potential. She could go close here.

Iris Emery (Sean O’Keeffe) would like better ground and needs to improve a lot.

Paggane (Mikey O’Sullivan) will like the ground but would prefer a longer trip.

Spindleberry (Paul) ran a fantastic race to be second to Jade De Grugy and a reproduction of that form would make her very hard to beat here.

Bumper 2 miles

Cantico (Jody) was a bit disappointing in the Cheltenham Bumper and needs to put that run behind him today.

Port Joulain (Patrick) was impressive when winning on debut at Gowran in March. His homework has improved since and we expect him to be seriously involved here.
