Mystical Power (Mark Walsh) makes his hurdling debut in the 2 mile novice hurdle. He won a bumper first time out at Ballinrobe and we have decided to get his hurdling career started here. He lacks experience compared to some of the opposition but he jumps very well at home and we are expecting a good run.
We have four runners in the QR Handicap over 2 miles. Lot Of Joy (Patrick) has a lot of weight but she ran very well when fourth to Echoes In Rain in this race last year. Maze Runner (Charlie Mullins) was second last year but he too has more weight to carry this time around. Charlie claims a valuable 7lbs which will be a big help. Scaramanga (Jody) will have no trouble staying the trip and Jody won this race for the same owner four years ago on Great White Shark. Whiskey Sour (Maxine O’Sullivan) loves this track and won this race in 2017. However, he is not getting any younger and will need to leave his recent form behind if he is to figure.
My Great Mate (Patrick) goes for the bumper. He was only third on his debut at Killarney in May but we think he will improve a lot here. The ground will be fine for him and we are expecting him to be in the shake-up.
