We have two in the novice hurdle over 2 miles. Farout (Brian Hayes) was impressive at Cork last time but the second horse has since let the form down. However, we are still expecting a very good run. Tax For Max (Paul) is really well in on ratings and will handle this ground. We’ll be disappointed if he’s not in the shake-up.
We also have two runners in the 2m 6f beginners chase. Bleu Berry (Paul) is making his chasing debut and he has schooled very well at home. He will like this trip and on his hurdling form he could be hard to beat. Hopefully his lack of chasing experience won’t catch him out. Golden Spread (Brian Hayes) has been very disappointing and is probably best watched today.
We are three-handed in the 2m 2f novice chase. Both Antey (Brian Hayes) and Fan De Blues (Paul) have huge experience and should go well. Paul elected to ride Fan De Blues and he might fare better of the two. Robinnia (Bryan Cooper) will be suited by the trip and ground but her hurdle rating leaves her with a bit to find against this opposition.
We have four runners in the Galway Hurdle over 2 miles. Saldier (Patrick) looks like he wants a longer trip at this stage of his career but maybe the forecast rain will make it a test of stamina. Ciel De Neige (Paul) ticks a lot of boxes here. He has a light weight, first time blinkers and a top jockey. Hopefully he will give JP McManus another top-class winner in Galway. Burning Victory (Jack Foley) has a nice weight for a former triumph Hurdle winner. She won on the flat in France last time out and has a definite chance with her rider’s 7lb claim. Jack gets horses jumping well and we think that the Easyfix hurdles here might help her jumping. Getaway Gorgeous is second reserve and if she gets in she could go well. She has plenty of experience but the worry is that she doesn’t appear to give her best in big field handicaps.
We have two in the 2m 4f novice hurdle. M C Muldoon (Patrick) is coming off a great run at Royal Ascot and is a good jumper. This trip won’t be a problem and we’re confident of a big run. Rambranlt’jac (Paul) has been a little disappointing and is returning from a break. He is going to be a nice horse but today’s race might be too soon.
We also have two in the 3 mile handicap hurdle. Captain Kangaroo (Sean O’Keeffe) has been disappointing since his bumper days. We are going out hugely in trip with him today in the hope that it will bring improvement. However, this is a big ask for a maiden. Manitopark (Paul) had decent form in France but has been relatively disappointing so far for us. This trip will be a big help to her.
We run two in the bumper over 2m 2f. Carfax (Jody Townend) is improving and with Jody’s claim she might get into the placings. Dads Lad (Patrick) was only third when he last ran at Kilbeggan in October but previously he had been second over this track. His owners are lucky in Galway and hopefully this fellow will step up on his last run and give them a good day out.
