Galway 28th July

We have two in the 2m 6f beginners chase. Captain Kangaroo (Paul) was disappointing on his debut over fences at Kilbeggan and probably needs more practice before he is seen at his best. Hopefully, he will show some improvement here. Rambranlt’jac (Brian Hayes) fell on his first run over fences at Navan but he has done a lot of schooling and is jumping much better now. This trip will suit.

Ganapathi (Paul) goes for the 2m 2f novice chase. He did well when winning at Wexford last time and is likely to improve further. We are expecting him to go very close.

Hors Piste (Paul) runs in the 2m 4f novice hurdle. She won as expected at Kilbeggan last time and needs a trip like this. We are expecting her to be very competitive.

We will have four in the Galway Hurdle Handicap over 2 miles. Shewearsitwell (Jack Foley) has the advantage of being a course winner and her rider’s 3lb claim will be a help. We are looking forward to seeing how she gets on here. Farout (Danny) ran too free and didn’t settle in the amateur handicap here on Monday. If he settles better today we would expect him to improve a fair bit. We have had this race in mind for Adamantly Chosen (Paul) since he ran a cracker when fourth at the Punchestown festival. If he can reproduce that form here he will go very close. Heia (Sean O’Keeffe) might find this trip a little short but if they go a good strong gallop she would have her chance.

What Path (Patrick) runs in the bumper over 2m 2f. He has to improve a bit from his run at Downpatrick last time but we think this track will suit him better. He has been pleasing us at home and we are expecting him to give a very good account.
