Galway 27th July

Legal Spin (Joey Sheridan) runs in the 1m 4f handicap. He was very disappointing at the Curragh last time and would need to show considerable improvement to figure here. This trip might be a little tight for him and he wouldn’t want any more rain.

We have five runners in the 2 mile Amateur Handicap. Sharjah (Patrick) was very unlucky when fourth at the Curragh last time and we think he has a big chance here. He won the Galway Hurdle over this course and distance two years ago and will like this ground. We will be disappointed if he is not involved at the business end today. Great White Shark (Jody Townend) won this race last year but has more weight this time round. She ran a cracker at the Cheltenham Festival in March and handles any ground. Tiger Tap Tap (Declan Lavery) is having his first run in a flat handicap. He was disappointing last time and looks to have it all to do here. Zenon (Richie Deegan) will like this trip and hopefully the ground will dry out for him. He will have blinkers for the first time for us and we are hoping that will bring about big improvement. Mister Blue Sky (Melanie Horsman) needs to improve and any more rain will be a help. Foveros is only third reserve and if he gets in will be ridden by Aubrey McMahon who has a tremendous record in this race.

Dark Voyager (Colin Keane) goes for the 1m 4f handicap. He will handle the ground and we think the step up in trip here will be a big benefit to him.

We have two in the 1m 4f QR Maiden, a race we have won for the last three years. Mt Leinster (Patrick) will like the ground and trip and hopefully he will handle this unique track. He is in very good form and with a bit of luck he might he might continue our great run in this race. My Sister Sarah (Jody Townend) is having her first run on the flat. The trip might be a bit sharp for her but she will be staying on at the finish.
