We have six runners in the Irish Cesarewitch over 2 miles. We’ll change tactics with Jackfinbar (Mikey O’Sullivan). Being forward hasn’t worked out so we will drop him in which seemed to suit him better when he ran well at Roscommon. Echoes In Rain (Colin Keane) was denied in the last few strides in this race last year and, with all the rain, she has a great chance of going one better this time. The testing ground will make it a huge test of stamina and that will suit Stratum (Sean O’Keeffe) who could be good each-way value. Mt Leinster (Rachael Blackmore) is a course winner but we’re not sure how he will cope with this ground. Lot Of Joy (Ben Coen) ran really well when third in this race last year and we think she’ll handle the conditions. We’ll ride her more conservatively on this ground. M C Muldoon (Gavin Ryan) had a nice run back at Galway and will be okay over this trip. He could run a big race. Whiskey Sour is only third reserve. This ground would be right up his street but he would need to improve a fair bit.
Maze Runner (Dylan Browne McMonagle) goes for the 2 mile handicap. He loves this track and will handle the ground. His last couple of runs have been a little disappointing but if the ball bounces for him he has a good each-way chance.
