Maiden Hurdle 1m 7f
Kappa Jy Pyke (Paul) is having his first run for us and making his hurdling debut. He won an AQPS flat race in France and jumps well. He will handle the ground and we have been very happy with his work at home. We are expecting him to go close.
Stayers Grade 3 Novice Hurdle 3 Miles
Luckinthecity (Paul) won over this course and distance in October but this represents a big step up in class. We are hoping for the best.
Just For Love (Danny) was second over 2m 5f at Limerick last time and we are hoping she can earn some black type here.
Mares Novice Chase 2 Miles
Zenta (Paul) is a fine big mare who will love this ground. She was third in this race last year and hopefully will improve on that today.
Karia Des Blaises (Brian Hayes) has been very disappointingbut hopefully will do better over fences.
Bar One Hilly Way Chase 2 Miles
Dinoblue (Mark Walsh) is a course and disatnce winner but is not well suited by these race conditions. She will handle the ground and has a good chance of running into a place.
Ferny Hollow (Patrick) boasts a great level of form when at his best but he hasn’t run for a while and faces a tough question here.
Appreciate It (Sean O’Keeffe) is a course winner but might find this trip too short if the top horses are at their best.
Blue Lord (Danny) could find this trip too sharp at his age.
Energumene (Paul) is returning after along lay-off but is still our main focus here. If anywhere near his best he should be hard to beat. He seems in good form at home and we’re looking for a real good run.
Hunters Yarn (Brian Hayes) was fifth in the Arkle at Cheltenham but might find this opposition too good.
Handicap Hurdle 2m 4f
Johnny Blue (Paul) came from England and is having his first run for us. It’s hard to gauge how good he is but he must have a chance at this level.
