Aintree 14th April

Bronn (Paul) goes for the Mildmay Novices Chase over 3m 1f. He ran very well when third in the Brown Advisory at Cheltenham but did have a very hard race. The second reopposes today and it all depend on which horse has recovered best.

We have four runners in the 2m 5f Topham Handicap Chase over the National course. Paul has picked Haut En Couleurs who is burdened with top-weight. His runs at Gowran when he was second to Janidil and at Thurles when he fell at the last give him a good chance today. Patrick renews acquaintance with Burrows Saint over the Grand National course. They were fourth in last year’s National when Burrows Saint just didn’t stay. We know he likes the track and over this shorter trip he could be great each-way value. Ciel De Neige’s(Mark Walsh) form leaves a little to be desired. We always though he would be better over bigger fences and we wouldn’t put anyone off backing him each-way at a big price here. Fan De Blues (Daryl Jacob) best form is on better ground and if the word ‘good’ is in the going description today he has a small chance.
