Aintree 13th April

Saint Roi (Mark Walsh) goes for the Grade 1 Novices Chase over 2m 4f. He ran well when third to El Fabiolo in the Arkle and will be suited by this flat, galloping track. The likely hot pace will be to his advantage and he is worth sticking with here.

Zenta (Mark Walsh) runs in the 4yo Juvenile Hurdle over 2m 1f. She has had two very good runs for us and when fillies start improving they invariably keep improving. She came out of Cheltenham well and hopefully she will be able to justify her favourite’s tag here.

Sharjah (Patrick) takes his chance at 2m 4f for the first time in the Grade 1 Aintree Hurdle. There’s not a lot of stamina in his pedigree but we thought that at his age it is worth rolling the dice.

Dads Lad (Brian Hayes) goes for the Red Rum Handicap Chase over 2 miles. His form on soft ground isn’t great but if it dries out he might finish in the first four.

We have two chances in the very competitive mares bumper over 2m 1f. Williamstowndancer (Patrick) is proving a very difficult ride and she needs to leave her last two runs behind if she is to figure here. However our second runner, Jolie Coeur Allen (Mark Walsh), is a sister to Icare Allen and her homework suggests she has a definite chance here.
