Fine Margin (Brian Hayes) runs in the 3 mile handicap hurdle. He was disappointing when pulling up at Leopardstown last time but his previous run at Haydock was very good. We have freshened him up for this and he has a decent chance off a relatively light weight.
We have two runners in the 2m 4f novices hurdle. Jimmy Du Seuil (Paul) and Ile Atlantique (Patrick) were second and third respectively behind Ballyburn in the Gallaghers Novices Hurdle at Cheltenham. Jimmy Du Seuil will love this ground and trip and could prove very hard to beat.
Monkfish (Paul) reverts to hurdles in the Grade 1 Liverpool Hurdle over 3 miles. He Pulled up in the Gold Cup at Cheltenham but this is a different ball game. We think he will run very well and could be each-way value.
We run eight in the Grand National over 4m 2f. Capodanno (Keith Donoghue) has been aimed at this race all season. He jumps well and stays all day. Paul rides I Am Maximus and he might prove best of ours. He has improved by leaps and bounds and has a great chance off 11-6. Janidil (Jody McGarvey) is having his first run in a handicap chase. He needs to show significant improvement if he is to get involved at the business end. Stattler (Patrick) will like this track and would have a chance on his best form. Mr Incredible (Brian Hayes) was going well in this race last year until his saddle slipped. His second in the Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter last month gives him every chance today. Adamantly Chosen (Sean O’Keeffe) did well when stepped up in trip at Down Royal last time and would be suited if the ground dried out further. Meetingofthewaters (Danny) has a nice weight and ran really well when third in the Ultima at Cheltenham. He is another with a very good chance. Glengouly (Mikey O’Sullivan) will apprecaite this trip and has a lovely racing weight.
