We have two runners in the Ballymore Novices Hurdle over 2m 5f. Easy Game (Ruby) won’t be suited by the recent rain but has done everything right this season and will appreciate this trip. Castlebawn West (Paul) will love this test of stamina and will handle the ground. He has an each-way chance.
We have six runners in the Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle over 2m 5f. Wicklow Brave (Patrick) has a difficult task under top-weight but he will appreciate the slower pace over this trip. Killultagh Vic (Paul) won the Martin Pipe here a few years ago and will like this test of stamina in the soft ground. Bleu Berry (David) won this race last year but has more weight this time round. Uradel (Ruby) should come on a lot from his last run and will appreciate this ground and trip. Calie Du Mesnil (Katie O’Farrell) probably prefers better ground but she has the advantage of Katie’s 5lb claim. Scarpeta (Danny) ran his best race in the Ballymore here last year and maybe first time cheek pieces will work the oracle today.
Min (Ruby) goes for the Queen Mother Champion Chase over 2 miles. He has been pleasing us on the gallops in recent weeks and could run a career best on ground that might not suit the favourite.
Ballycasey (Patrick) runs in the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase over 3m 6f. He didn’t run well in Punchestown last time and had a setback afterwards. He is best watched today.
We have three in the Fred Winter Handicap Hurdle over 2 miles. Ciel De Neige (Ruby) is having his first run for us off his French mark. He is a nice horse who has plenty of experience. La Sorelita (David) has a tough task after some in and out prep runs. Maze Runner (Paul) is first reserve. If he gets in, the recent rain and first time blinkers should be a help.
Blue Sari (Barry Geraghty) runs in the Champion Bumper over 2 miles. He was very impressive when winning on soft ground at Gowran. He is a strong horse even though he is only a 4yo. He has every chance.
