Reaching High (Ryan Moore) ran a cracker on his first run for us when beaten a short head at Leopardstown. That was over 1m 4f but we have no worries about him staying this much longer trip as his pedigree is all stamina. He will love the ground and has been working really well. We’ll be disappointed if he’s not in the shake-up.
Poniros (William Buick) won the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham and then ran too free when beaten at Punchestown. We’ll change tactics here and hold him up for a late run like we did at Cheltenham. He will stay the trip and the ground won’t be a problem.
Copper Horse Handicap Stakes 1m 6f
Charlus (Ryan Moore) won a maiden hurdle on his first run for us and then finished unplaced in the Triumph Hurdle. Most of his form on the flat in France was over 1m 2f and this is the first time he is running over this longer trip. We think the extra distance will be a big help and he could be well in on his French handicap mark. He has a great chance of finishing in at least the first three.
