Gaillard Du Mesnil (Paul) runs in the 4yo maiden hurdle over 2m 4f. He was a well beaten second over this trip at Punchestown last month and the winner didn’t do anything for the form next time out. However, our fellow should improve a lot for that run and could go close here.
Dandy Mag (Paul) runs in the Pertemps Handicap Hurdle Qualifier over 3 miles. He ran well at Naas last time where he got tired after jumping the second last. That run should have left him spot on for this and he has a good each-way chance in what is always a very competitive race.
We have two runners in the Grade 1 Hurdle over 3 miles. Bacardys (Patrick) loves this track and will appreciate the trip. Bapaume (Paul) will also like the track and trip. Both have chances but this is a very competitive race.
We have five in the Savilles Grade 1 Chase over 3 miles. Allaho (Paul) didn’t jump well on his seasonal debut in the John Durkan but we think he will improve in that department today. He could improve more that our other runners here and has a definite chance. Easy Game (Danny) loves this track but judged on his recent runs it is hard to see him being competitive here. Kemboy (David) won this race two years ago and they have a chance again but the recent rain is not in their favour. Melon (Patrick) shouldn’t have a problem stepping up to 3 miles here and has a chance of getting into the money. Tornado Flyer (Bryan Cooper) is improving and showed a lot of speed over 2m 4f last time and could have a big part to play if getting this trip.
We have two in the 2m 5f beginners chase. Karl Der Grosse (David) is coming back after a break and might be best watched on ground that could prove too soft for him. The Big Getaway (Paul) was disappointing at Navan last time. However, we think he is better than that and the recent rain gives him a chance to redeem himself here.
Ramilles (Patrick) goes for the bumper. He hasn’t run since disappointing when fourth in a bumper here last Christmas. He is fit and well but he needs to improve if he is to win today.
