3YO Maiden Hurdle 2 Miles
Last Kingdom (Mark Walsh) is having his first run for us and is also making his hurdling debut. He was very impressive when winning on the flat in France and has been schooling well at home. We’re confident he’ll put in a strong performance.
Beginners Chase 2m 1f
We run four nice horses here and It’s For Me (Daryl Jacob) was by far the best of them over hurdles. His recent homework has been excellent and he jumps well. We are looking forward to running him here.
Lisnagar Fortune (Danny) is also making his chasing debut but his hurdle form wouldn’t be near as good as It’s For Me’s. Hopefully, he will get into the money.
Shanbally Kid (Mikey O’Sullivan) doesn’t jump well enough yet and needs more experience.
Western Diego (Sean O’Keeffe) has point to point experience and will improve as the season progresses.
Grade 1 Chase 2m 1f
Blue Lord (Daryl Jacob) loves this track but would prefer a longer trip at this stage of his career.
With Paul in Kempton, Patrick takes the ride on Gaelic Warrior. He is the top-rated horse in the field and sets the standard. He has a little tendency to jump right but hopefully that won’t impair him. He’s the one to beat.
Gentleman De Mee (Danny) is good on his day but is another that would appreciate a longer trip.
Dinoblue (Mark Walsh) won this race last year and ran well at Cork behind Energumene a few weeks ago. She has every chance.
Grade 1 Novice Hurdle 2 Miles
Karafon (Daryl Jacob) won a maiden hurdle at Clonmel last time but will have to improve a fair bit to be involved today.
Karniquet (Patrick) was very impressive when winning at Tramore last month. He does things nicely at home and we are looking forward to seeing him step up in class here.
Sea Of Sands (Danny) is a good dual purpose horse who runs for a new owner today. He was third at Fairyhouse last time and looked like he would improve for the run. His flat finishing speed could give him a big advantage on the run from the last.
Handicap Hurdle 2 Miles
Ethical Diamond (Mikey O’Sullivan) was fourth in a big handicap at Royal Ascot last time but is very headstrong and has been hard to train. Hopefully, his hurdling experience last year will put him in here with a decent chance.
Gaucher (Danny) is another difficult ride and faces a tough challenge.
Batman Girac (Daryl Jacob) is another who wants to get on about business instead of settling. He could find things difficult in such a hot contest.
Nick Rockett has top-weight but Sean Cleary-Farrell takes off a useful 7lbs. He will handle the ground and trip.
Meetingofthewaters (Peter Smithers) won this race last year but has a whopping 18lbs more to carry this time round. His rider’s 7lb claim will obviously be a big help but he faces a tough task.
Janidil (Aidan Kelly) needs to improve on his last few runs if he is to get into the money.
Horantzau D’airy (Paddy Hanlon) may not be in love with this ground and it is difficult to see him getting into the first half dozen.
Adamantly Chosen (Charlie O’Dwyer) will like the ground and get the trip. His rider’s claim will be a big help.
MacDermott (Danny) pulled up on his first run of the season at Navan but always takes a few runs to get back to his best. This won’t be easy for him.
Spanish Harlem (Sean O’Keeffe) is a horse we like but he hasn’t shown his best day yet. This would be a nice race to show off his ability!
Aime Desjy (Kieran Callaghan) needs a clear round of jumping if he is to get involved.
Chavez (Mikey O’Sullivan) has a lovely racing weight and has every chance.
Klarc Kent (Anna McGuinness) won’t know himself with such a light weight. Anna claims a very useful 7lbs.
Bumper 2m 4f
Patrick has chosen Eclipse Chaser who has been working well at home. We are looking forward to seeing if he can replicate his homework on the track.
Leaky Cauldron (Elliot Ohgren) won a point to point but has been difficult to train. He might benefit for this run.
