Leopardstown 26th December

Micro Manage (Patrick) makes his hurdling debut in the 4yo maiden hurdle over 2 miles. He was schooled over hurdles as a 2yo and has been working well at home. If he can transfer his flat ability to this discipline he should take all the beating.

We have two runners in the 2 mile maiden hurdle. El Barra (David) was very impressive when winning a bumper at Thurles last month and has a lot going for him here. He jumps well, will handle the ground and his point to point experience will be a huge help. M C Muldoon (Patrick) is making his hurdling debut and is having his first run for us. He had a high rating on the flat in England but hasn’t run for over two years. However, his homework has been good and he has schooled well.

We run two in the Grade 2 Juvenile hurdle over 2 miles. Ha D’or (Rachael Blackmore) is a nice horse who won an AQPS race in France. He does things nicely at home and if he runs well here it will bode well for the future. Saint Sam (David) was beaten a long way by Zanahiyr at Fairyhouse last month but has improved at home since and is 7lbs better off here. He should at least finish a lot closer today.

Dysart Diamond (David) runs in the 2 mile novice handicap hurdle. This is a big task on ground she won’t really like. A first-time tongue tie might be a help to her.

We have two in the competitive Grade 1 Novice Chase over 2m 1f. Blackbow (David) jumped well to win a beginners chase at Navan last month and it looks like he enjoys fences more than hurdles. This is a big step up but he has his chance. Franco De Port (Bryan Cooper) is also stepping up in class after winning his beginners chase at Thurles last time. He might find this trip a little on the short but we will know what we have after today.

Pont Aven (David) runs in the 2m 1f handicap chase. He ran too freely last time but dropping back in trip here might suit his style of jumping. However, he will need to improve if he is to win.

Cool Jet (Patrick) makes his debut in the bumper. It looks like it could be a very hot race but our fellow goes well at home and should give a very good account of himself.
