Anotherway (Daryl Jacob) has his first run for us in the 4yo maiden hurdle over 2 miles. He jumps well and had some good form on the flat in France. He has a great chance of finishing in at least the first three.
We have three runners in the 2 mile maiden hurdle. Houlanbatordechais (Makey O’Sullivan) and Icare Desbois (Danny) both disappointed last time and will have their work cut out to finish in the frame. Mirazur West (Mark Walsh) is a full brother to Ferny Hollow and won a bumper in good style at Naas last March. He jumps well and we are expecting a big run.
We run four in the 2 mile Juvenile Hurdle. Batman Girac (Mikey O’Sullivan) disappointed badly when going right-handed last time and we are hoping that going left-handed today will will help him. Karafon (Daryl Jacob) was placed over hurdles at Auteuil. He looks like a big chaser in the making and we will be delighted if he finishes in the first four. Danny has picked Kargese who won two hurdle races in France and will handle this ground. Her experience should ensure that she gets involved. Karia Des Blaises (Brian Hayes) and Miss Manzor (Rachael Blackmore) have both won over hurdles in France and we will find out today where they fit in in the juvenile ranks.
We have two in the Grade 1 Novice Chase over 2m 1f. Patrick has opted for Facile Vega who has been doing everything right at home since winning on his chasing debut at Navan last month. He goes here with every chance. Sharjah (Danny) disappointed on soft ground over 2m 4f at Fairyhouse last time. We are hoping for better over his favoured track, trip and ground.
Chavez (Danny) makes his handicap debut in the 2m if handicap chase. It has been difficult for the handicapper to give him a mark but we will find out more about how he is treated today.
Cantico (Patrick) makes his racecourse debut in the 4yo bumper. He is a real chasing type who shaped well in a point to point. We are really looking forward to seeing how he gets on here.
