Leopardstown 26th December

We have two runners with good chances in the opening 2 mile 4YO maiden hurdle. Hercule Du Seuil (Mark Walsh) is having his first run for us and gained valuable experience when second on his only run over hurdles in France. He is a good jumper and will like the ground. State Man (Paul) is a son of Doctor Dino and has a very similar profile. He also jumps well and we are looking forward to seeing how they both get on here.

We are also double-handed in the 2 mile maiden hurdle. Goven (Mark Walsh) won twice on the flat in France and that experience will stand to him here. He will handle the ground and has schooled well. Sir Gerhard (Paul) won the Cheltenham Bumper and his schooling and homework has been very good. We expect him to go close.

We have two in the Grade 1 novice chase over 2m 1f. Ferny Hollow (Paul) won a beginners chase at Punchestown earlier this month and just might be coming back a bit quick. However, that race was over the minimum trip and he seems in very good form at home. Grand Bornand (Brian Hayes) had a little break after winning a beginners chase at Galway in July. He has come back well and is a course winner here. It won’t be easy for our horses to give nearly a stone to the experienced Riviere D’etel.

Fan De Blues (Paul) has a lot of weight in the 3m 1f handicap chase. He has plenty of experience and will like this trip and ground. He has an each-way chance.

Facile Vega (Patrick) makes his debut in the 4YO bumper. He is the second foal out of Quevega and is a fine stamp of a horse. He gallops well and we are looking forward to seeing him here.
