Galway 1st August

Beginners Chase 2m 6f

This is a competitive race but Pink In The Park (Paul) has a lot going for her. She jumps well and will like the trip and ground. She should give a very good account.

Novice Chase 2m 2f

Both Horantzau D’airy (Danny) and Saylavee (Paul) will go on the ground and have no trouble with the trip. It’s a tight race but hopefully one of them will do the business.

Novice Hurdle 2m 4f

Ninth Titan (Paul) won his maiden in good style at Tramore and the step up in trip here shouldn’t be a problem. He will enjoy the ground and we are expecting a big run.

Femme Magnifique (Danny) steps up in class here after winning a maiden at Downpatrick in June.

Just For Love (Sean Cleary-Farrell) has the advantage of being a course winner and gets a mares allowance together with her rider’s useful 7lb claim. She won’t be far away.

Galway Hurdle 2 Miles

Winter Fog (Brian Hayes) is a course winner but has a tough assignment with top weight.

Daddy Long Legs (Paul) has to put his disappointing run at Tipperary behind him. If he does and can handle this track he would have a decent chance on his previous form.

Anotherway (Danny) is having his first run in a handicap. He had a disappointing run on the flat at Leopardstown last time and we are running here more in hope than expectation.

Williamstowndancer (Rachael Blackmore) won a flat race last time and definitely comes into the reckoning here. She will go on the ground and could have a nice mark.

A Penny A Hundred (Kieran Callaghan) has been disappointing and might find this trip a bit sharp.

Risk Belle (Mark Walsh) is in very good form and hopefully this ground will bring out the best in her.

Arctic Fly (Sean Cleary-Farrell) won at this meeting last year and a first-time tongue tie could be a bonus. It’s her first handicap and her rider’s claim will be a big help.

Icare Desbois (Mikey O’Sullivan) comes here off a good run at Punchestown and has a lovely racing weight.

Bumper 2m 2f

Vicar Street (Derek O’Connor) is making his racecourse debut. He has a very good pedigree and has been shaping up well at home. He should be a big player here.
