Ayr 20th April

Uncle Phil (Paul) runs in the 2 mile Premier Handicap Chase. He went up 11lbs for winning at Fairyhouse last time but he is improving and might still be ahead of the handicapper. This track will suit and so will the drying ground.

Sharjah (Paul) shares top-weight in the Novices Champion Handicap Chase over 3 miles. We are hoping that this longer trip will bring about improvement and if the ground continues to dry out he should go well.

We have three runners in the Scottish Champion Hurdle Handicap over 2 miles. Westport Cove (Danny) will be suited by the trip and ran very well when third at Fairyhouse last month. Bialystok (Paul) was disappointing behing Absurde in the County Hurdle at Cheltenham but Paul has picked him here and hopefully he will go close. Alvaniy (Brian Hayes) has a lovely racing weight but needs to improve if he is to get into the money.

We also run three in the Mares Handicap Hurdle over 3 miles. Paul rides A Penny A Hundred who should have problem with the step up in trip here. She jumps well and should figure prominently. Pink In The Park (Patrick) will like the ground but we’re not sure how she will cope with this trip. Saylavee (Danny) is not the most consistent but on her best form she has a chance even with top-weight.

We run six in the Scottish Grand National Handicap Chase over 4 miles. Klarc Kent (Sean O’Keeffe) has a handy weight but would need to show considerable improvement to get involved. MacDermott (Danny) is improving and we think he will have no trouble with this trip. He’s in good shape and has an obvious chance. Mr Incredible (Patrick) has every chance if he puts his best foot forward. He jumps well and will like the track and ground. Ontheropes (Brian Hayes) will appreciate the ground but does need to improve significantly. Spanish Harlem (Paul) has been a little disappointing but this track will suit and so will the ground. The fact that Paul opted for him is a plus. We’llhavewan (Kieran Callaghan) has really nice light weight and Kieran claims a useful 5lbs. He jumps well and will stay the trip.

Chosen Witness (Paul) goes for the 3 mile Novices Handicap Hurdle. He has been running well but has a lot of weight in this competitive handicap. Hopefully, he will run well.

We have two in the Novice Hurdle over 2m 4f. Billericay Dickie (Patrick) won well over this trip at Punchestown but probably needs the ground to dry out further to be seen at his best. Quai De Bourbon (Paul) ran a cracker in the Martin Pipe at Cheltenham and a similar run here would give him a big chance.

C’est Ta Chance (Patrick) runs in the bumper. He disappointed us a bit in the Cheltenham Bumper but we think he is better than that run and we’re expecting a much improved performance today.
