We have two runners in the Supreme Novice Hurdle over 2 miles. Aramon (Paul) was only just touched off by Klassical Dream at Leopardstown last month and on form should run a big race here. However, he wouldn’t be suited by any more rain. Klassical Dream (Ruby) is improving all the time and if the rain arrives it will be a big plus for him. We are expecting him to go very close.
Duc Des Genievres (Paul) goes for the Arkle Novice Chase. This is a tough assignment but he jumps and stays well. The forecast rain could be a key player as it would bring his stamina into play. He has a live each-way chance.
Up For Review (Paul) runs in the 3m 1f handicap chase. He ran a cracker on his seasonal debut in the Thyestes and will handle this ground. He has a decent chance.
We have three in the Champion Hurdle over 2 miles. Melon (Paul) will run in cheek pieces for the first time and has really come alive since arriving at the track. Sharjah (Patrick) handles soft ground but is probably best on a firmer surface. Any more rain will be a huge help to Laurina (Ruby) and she should be bang there at the business end.
We have five in the 2m 3f mares hurdle. Benie Des Dieux (Ruby) is probably our best chance of the week. She won this race last year and is in great order. The forecast rain is music for our ears! Good Thyne Tara (Rachael Blackmore) has improved hugely this year but all her best form is on good ground. She is each-way material. Limini (David) has sparked this season but if the rain comes she could get into the frame. Stormy Ireland (Paul) ran a cracker here last year and will like the ground. Elimay (Mark Walsh) had plenty of experience in France and was only just beaten by Good Thyne Tara at Leopardstown over Christmas. She will like this ground.
Ballyward (Patrick) goes for the NH Amateurs Novices Chase over 3m 7f. He lacks experience over fences but that is also the case for a lot of his rivals. He is very fit and the ground will suit.
