We have two runners in the Istabraq Hurdle over 2 miles. Ivan Grozny (Paul) won this last year but is not in the same form yet this season. Coquin Mans (Ruby) won a flat race over 1m 6f at Listowel last time and although unbeaten for us is still a relatively unknown quantity. We are not too worried about the drop back in trip here as we only ran him in the 3 mile races because the race conditions suited. He is fit and well and the fact that he has shown that he can handle testing conditions has to be a big advantage.

We have won the last two runnings of the Joe Mac Novice Hurdle and we have two of the six runners this time round. Sayar (Ruby) was green when he won a 2 mile maiden hurdle impressively at Kilbeggan on his first for us and will have learnt an awful lot from that experience. The ground would be a slight concern for him. Law Girl (Paul) was disappointing at Listowel last time but is well in at the weights here. However, we are not sure that she will handle this ground.

Timi Roli (Ruby) runs in the 2 mile handicap hurdle. He is a course winner and, while this trip might be a little short for him, the heavy ground will make it more a test of stamina. He might have done too much when making the running at Listowel and we are hoping for better here.

Rathvinden (Ruby) goes for the 2m 4f novice chase. He won over this trip at the recent Listowel Festival and will love this ground. He is an improving horse but has a tough task as the race conditions do not really suit him.

Brahma Bull (Patrick) runs in the winners’ bumper. He is two out of two having won at Ballinrobe and Listowel. He will handle this ground and it would be great if he can make three out of three before going hurdling.
