29 Dec 2018 Race Previews

Castlebawn West (Ruby) runs in the 2m 4f maiden hurdle. He was just touched off on his hurdling debut at Clonmel a few weeks ago and will improve for that experience. He will go on this ground and must have every chance of getting off the mark over hurdles today.

We have three runners in the 2m 4f mares’ grade 3 hurdle. Good Thyne Tara (David) has been improving all season and will like this ground. Limini (Ruby) will like the ground and trip and is suited by these race conditions. She looks the one to beat. Elimay (Mark Walsh) is a nice filly that came from France. She has a rating that would make her competitive here but we will know more about her after today.

We have two in the Ryanair Grade 1 Hurdle over 2 miles. Sharjah (Patrick) has had a good season and likes this track. He is good enough to take his chance here and will hopefully get some place money. Melon (Ruby) is a course and distance winner and is in good order. He will like the ground but this is a big ask on his seasonal reappearance.

Mt Leinster (Patrick) goes for the winners’ bumper. He won impressively on his debut at Ballinrobe and then ran far too freely when beaten last time. We will change tactics today and we are expecting a big run on ground he will love.
