Thurles 27th January

We have two runners in the Grade 2 mares novice chase over 2m 4f. Colreevy (Paul) drops in class here after winning the Faugheen Grade 1 Novice at Limerick over Christmas. He will love this ground and trip and it looks like a nice opportunity for him. Yukon Lil (Danny) runs in the sponsor’s colours. We are going to try different tactics with her today. However, she might find this trip a little on the short side.

We run four in the Grade 2 Chase over 2m 4f. Easy Game (Brian Hayes) likes this trip but would prefer better ground. Allaho (Paul) is suited by the race conditions and has been in good form at home. We are going to ride him a bit differently here and he should be a big player. Annamix (Danny) was fourth to Chacun Pour Soi over 2m 1f at Leopardstown last time and this longer trip will be more to his liking. Elimay (Mark Walsh) hasn’t run over fences since winning a novice chase over this course and distance a year ago.

Fighter Allen (Paul) goes for the 2m 7f novice hurdle. He is on a retrieval mission after a very disappointing run at Navan last time. If he can put that run behind him he should figure prominently in this competitive affair. He will be suited by the trip and ground.

Eurotiep (Aubrey McMahon) makes his hurdling debut in the 2 mile maiden hurdle. His bumper form is very good and if he jumps as well on the track as he does at home he must have every chance.  Aubrey claims a useful 7lbs and this horse goes well for him.
