Pont Aval (Paul) goes for the mares beginners chase over 2m 2f. She has finished second on her last two starts and this looks like an ideal opportunity to finally get her head in front over fences. She will handle the ground and should be hard to beat.
We run two in the 2m 2f novice chase. Paul rides Flame Bearer who didn’t jump well when third at Navan last time. He is a course winner here and with a change of tactics today we think his jumping will improve. He has a big chance. Glengouly (Jack Foley) won a beginners chase over this course and distance in December but was very disappointing at Navan last time. He needs to recapture his winning form if he is to get involved today.
Asterion Forlonge (Paul) reverts to hurdles in the 2m 7f conditions hurdle. He has been off the track since running in the Cheltenham Gold Cup last year so we decided to start him back over hurdles here. He will have no problem with this trip and ground but this is tough task after being off for so long.
