Punchestown 29th May

We have two runners in the 2m 4f mares chase. Sapphire Lady (Danny) likes this trip and the recent rain will be a help to her. She should run a big race but Abbey Magic could prove a tough nut to crack. Contingency (Bryan Cooper) had a nice run back at Punchestown and will improve from that here. With a bit of luck she might get into the placings today.

Andalusa (Brian Hayes) goes for the 2 mile handicap chase. She has been coming on all the time and shouldn’t be far away at the business end. However, a concern is that she would prefer much better ground.

We run two in the conditions hurdle over 2m 3f. Bapaume (Brian Hayes) has been in great form lately over fences and hurdles and should take all the beating today. He is a course winner and a distance winner and will go on the ground. Bleu Berry (Danny) ran well here after a break last time and looks a solid each-way prospect.

Cacique Royale (Danny) has his first run for us in the 2 mile maiden hurdle. He had some good runs on the flat for Andy Oliver and looks a nice prospect for hurdle races over the summer. Hopefully he won’t find this ground too testing.

Grangeclare West (Jody Townend) makes his racecourse debut in the bumper. He won a point to point and has been going nicely at home. He should be a big player here.
