We run two in the Quevega Mares Hurdles over 2m 4f. Laurina (Paul) is really well suited by the race conditions but she has disappointed on the last two occasions. She jumped big the last day and coming back to hurdles here might give her confidence. If so, she will take all the beating in a race she won last year. Elfile (Danny) is a good second string if Laurina doesn’t perform. She ran very well last time and that form gives her a great chance.
We also have two in the 2m 4f maiden hurdle. Fils Spirituel (Paul) has been disappointing but with cheek pieces for the first time we are hoping for better today. Lucky One (Brian Hayes) was runner-up in two hurdle races in France and he will handle this ground. He has a good chance of getting into the first three.
Hopefully (Paul) goes for the 2m 6f maiden hurdle. She was fifth over 2m 1f at Clonmel last month and we will see if the big step up in trip today will bring about some improvement.
