Polo Lounge (Paul) goes for the 2 mile rated novice hurdle. He didn’t settle when pulled up in the Royal Bond last time but is back against horses of his own calibre here. It’s a tough race but he has his chance.
Saylavee (Paul) runs in the mares listed hurdle over 2m 3f. We have been very happy with the way she is working at home and this trip will really suit. We are confident she will give a very good account.
We run two in the John Durkan Chase over 2m 4f. Galopin Des Champs (Paul) likes this track and will handle the ground. The race conditions are in his favour and he has been doing everything right at home. We are very hopeful. Haut En Couleurs (Bryan Cooper) is not really suited by the conditions of the race but we need to get his season underway. He will probably step up to 3 miles later in the season.
We also have two in the beginners chase over 2 miles. Appreciate It (Paul) is making a belated chasing debut but he is schooling well and has point to point experience. He’s been pleasing us at home and we are expecting a big run. Hawai Game (Brian Hayes) is also having his first run over fences. He can be a difficult ride and we will learn a lot if he gets around.
We have two runners in the auction bumper. Blizzard Of Oz (Patrick) is having his first run for us. He was second to Impulsive Dancer in a winners bumper at Limerick and that form gives him an excellent chance here. We are looking forward to running him here and we are hoping he will be good enough to see off this opposition. Captain Cody (Jody Townend) is also having his first run for the yard. He ran in two point to points before coming to us and his form doesn’t suggest he would be good enough to win a metropolitan bumper.
