We have three in the novice chase over 3 miles. En Beton (Danny) was impressive when winning at Punchestown last month and will relish this trip. He is being aimed at the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham and should get more jumping experience here. Stattler (Paul) was also impressive when winning his beginners chase at Fairyhouse and he will love this longer trip. This is a tough task but he needs to finish in the first four today to qualify for the National Hunt Chase and hopefully he will deliver here. Stratum (Sean O’Keeffe) is also a possible runner in the NH Chase. His form mightn’t be as good as some of these but we will know where we are going with him after today.
Whiskey Sour (Paul) goes for the Limestone Lad Hurdle over 2 miles. He hasn’t won for four years so this is a tall order in a very tight contest. This small filed should help his confidence and hopefully he will run well.
We have three horses making their hurdling debuts in the 2m 3f maiden hurdle. Double Talkin Jive (Bryan Cooper) has been a hard horse to get right and we are running here with a view to seeing where to aim him in the future. Ramillies (Danny) is a horse we have always thought a lot of and he has had a wind operation after disappointing last season. He met with a setback recently and might benefit from today’s run. The Nice Guy (Paul) is unbeaten in two runs in bumpers. He jumps well enough at home and has fitness on his side. We expect him to go close here.
Seabank Bistro (Patrick) makes his racecourse debut in the bumper over 2m 3f. He is a lovely big chasing type who is related to Killultagh Vic. Our bumper horses have been running very well and it would be great if this fellow can keep up the good run.
