Harrie (Rachael Blackmore) goes for the 2m 4f novice chase. He won a 2 mile beginners chase at Thurles last month and we don’t expect the longer trip here to be any problem. He is improving and getting more confident in his jumping. We’ll be disappointed if he’s not in the shake-up again today.
We have three runners in the Leinster National Handicap Chase over 3 miles. Class Conti (Mikey Fogarty) has a lot of weight but will like the ground. He ran a great race for Mikey in the Thyestes last month and that form gives him a good chance here. Saturnas (Danny) was fourth in the Thyestes but might prefer better ground to be seen at his best. Blazer (Jody McGarvey) has the ability to win a race like this when he decides to put it all together. He will handle the ground and the trip.
Shadow Rider (Mark Walsh) goes for the Grade 3 Novice Hurdle over 2 miles. He pulled too hard over 2m 6f at Leopardstown last time but he should settle better over this shorter trip. We’re very hopeful that he will get back to winning ways here.
Princess Vega (Danny) runs in the 2m 3f handicap hurdle. She has a nice light weight but she needs much better ground than she is likely to get here.
Eden Flight (Danny) runs in the 2m 3f maiden hurdle. He was very disappointing at Navan last time and needs to improve significantly if he is to get involved here. We probably won’t see the best of him until he goes over fences.
