Nick Rockett (Paul) makes his hurdling debut in the 2m 3f maiden hurdle. He won a bumper at Thurles last time and has won a point to point. We have decided to go over hurdles with him even though he is qualified for a winners’ bumper. We will go chasing with him next season if he wins his maiden between now and Punchestown.
Cash Back (Jack Foley) has to shoulder top-weight in the handicap hurdle over 2m 3f but it’s been hard to find suitable races for him. He needs to return to form and hopefully he’ll run a good race.
Saldier (Paul) goes for the novice chase over 2m 4f. He made a promising start in this sphere at Thurles but he’s a little short of experience for today’s race. If his lack of experience doesn’t count against him he must have a huge chance based on his high hurdle rating.
Aione (Sean O’Keeffe) runs in the Leinster National Handicap Chase over 3 miles. This is his first handicap but he is a course winner and has a lovely racing weight. We’ll be delighted if he manages to finish in the first four.
Fancy Girl (Patrick) goes for the 1m 7f Mares Winners Bumper. She ran well when fourth to Fun Fun Fun at Leopardstown last month and a change of riding tactics here should see her go very close.
