Aghaboy (Sean O’Keeffe) has his first run for us in the 3YO maiden hurdle over 2 miles. He jumps fine and has plenty of racing experience on the flat. It’s a tough-looking race to start off in but hopefully he will acquit himself well.
Purple Mountain (Sean O’Keeffe) is in the 2m 1f handicap hurdle. She is a course winner here and was third at the Galway festival last time. She had been off the track since November before the Galway run and we are expecting significant improvement here. We are hoping she will get back to winning ways today.
Dragan Rock (Jack Foley) goes for the 2m 6f novice hurdle. He won his maiden over a similar trip at Tramore and will like this ground. With his rider’s useful 3lb claim he should go well.
We have two in the beginners chase over 2m 7f. Captain Kangaroo (Brian Hayes) has been finding things tough lately and we will be pleased if he gets into the money today. Jon Snow (Sean O’Keeffe) was third on his chasing debut at Galway and that experience will stand to him here. He will appreciate this longer trip and the likely slower pace will also suit. We are expecting him to go very close.
Gelee Blanche (Jack Foley) runs in the 2m 7f handicap chase. She has been off the track since winning at Downpatrick last October and has a lot of weight here. She will go on the ground and hopefully she will run well.
We run two in the 2m 1f handicap chase. Robinnia (Sean O’Keeffe) was unplaced at Galway and needs to improve to figure here. We think she has every chance of doing so and she could get seriously involved today. Dads Lad (Brian Hayes) surprised us when winning a flat maiden at Galway. He goes on the ground and has a nice mark. He has an each-way chance.
Polo Lounge (Patrick) goes for the bumper over 2m 1f. He disappointed us when fourth at Tramore last time but he will be much more suited by this flat track. He has a good chance provided the rain stays away.
