Cilaos Emery (Paul) runs in the Red Mills Trial Hurdle over 2 miles. He reverts to hurdles here after falling at the first at Leopardstown last time. He is a course winner here and is well suited by these race conditions. Hopefully he will be slick enough at his hurdles after a spell jumping fences. If he runs well today he could have a crack at the Champion Hurdle next month.
Real Steel (Paul) goes for the 2m 4f Red Mills Chase. He won well over this trip at Thurles last month but will encounter much softer ground here. That shouldn’t be a problem and hopefully he will win again today.
We have three runners in the 2m 4f beginners chase – a race we have won for the last three years. Coquin Mans (Mikey Fogarty) will love the ground but his recent form is very poor. Ontheropes (Danny) would prefer a longer trip and better ground. Voix Des Tiep (Paul) will be very well suited by this ground and the trip won’t be a problem. We are expecting a big run.
Lorvon Pearl (Patrick) has her first run for us in the mares bumper over 2m 1f. She has been tough to train and this is her first run since May 2018. She was second in a bumper but will have to improve on that form if she is to win today.
