Galway 27th July

Dysart Diamond (Jack Foley) runs in the 2 mile mares handicap hurdle. She is not the biggest mare so Jack’s 7lb claim will be a help. She has a lot of weight but she will like the trip and act on the ground.

Dark Voyager (Paul) goes for the Listed Novice Hurdle over 2 miles. He won a flat race here and will like this ground. He was impressive at Tipperary last time and he should be a big player here.

We have two runners in the 2m 5f maiden hurdle. Rayapour (Brian Hayes) has been a little disappointing so far and needs to improve a good bit if he is to be involved here.  Lasparas (Paul) won a bumper at Tramore and is a previous point to point winner. He has schooled well at home and will love this trip.

We have six runners in the Galway Plate over 2m 6f. Royal Rendezvous (Paul) had a nice prep for this when winning a hurdle at Ballinrobe last time. He was unlucky in this race last year and with a little improvement should go close again. Patrick has elected to ride Annamix who jumps well enough and has been working well. He will like this nice ground and has a good chance. Easy Game (Bryan Cooper) has a lot of weight and faces a tough assignment. Too much rain would curtail his chance. Brahma Bull (Jack Foley) won over 3 miles last time and might just find this trip a little short. With his rider’s 7lb claim he has an each-way chance. Livelovelaugh (Sean O’Keeffe) will be suited by this trip but might find things happening a bit fast around this tight track. Koshari (Brian Hayes) has a lovely racing weight and could be well handicapped. He improved hugely to win over hurdles at the Punchestown Festival and has a decent chance if he keeps his jumping together.

Klassy Kay (Paul) runs in the 2m 5f handicap hurdle. She will like this ground and has an each-way chance.

Andalusa (Brian Hayes) goes for the handicap chase over 2m 2f. This trip is probably as far as she wants to go and she would prefer a flatter track.

We run two in the mares bumper. Patrick has picked Mary Meehan even though her form doesn’t suggest she would win this. She has a reasonable chance if the ground stays dry. On the other hand, Memorable Daise (Jody Townend) has a chance if the ground gets softer.

We also have two in the 4yo bumper. Derracrin (Jody Townend) ran very well when third on his debut at Cork and the form of the race has worked out well. He has a good chance if he handles this undulating track. Le Nouveau (Kieran Callaghan) is a nice horse but this is a big stage to start off his career.
