Galway 26th July

Mr Coldstone (Wayne Lordan) goes for the 1m 4f handicap. This is his first run on the flat for us and he might have a nice handicap mark. His best form is on softer ground than he will encounter here but he is still a definite each-way possibility.

We have six declared for the Amateur Handicap over 2 miles. Royal Illusion (Tom Hamilton) was disappointing at Royal Ascot and doesn’t have a good draw here. However, her best form puts in here with a decent chance. Patrick rides Hook Up who had her first run on the flat for us when third at Killarney last time. She has a nice draw and will love this ground. Runrized will be ridden by top class Swedish amateur Elliot Ohgren. His form is underwhelming and he would need to improve considerably to win today. Foveros (Aubrey McMahon) won at the Curragh last time and brings invaluable course form here. He will handle the ground and his rider has a fantastic record in this race. We’re expecting a big run. We were delighted to get Jamie Codd for My Sister Sarah. She comes here off a win over this trip in Listowel and has been placed twice at this track. She will like this ground. Jody Townend claims a valuable 5lbs off Exchange Rate who won the QR Maiden here a few years ago. He has a good each-way chance.

Beret Rouge (Jody Townend) runs in the 1m 4f QR Maiden – a race we have won for the last four years. This mare has won two bumpers and, with Jody’s claim, she must have a great each-way chance. Dani Barcelona is third reserve and would have a chance in the unlikely event that she gets a run.
