Fairyhouse 9th January

Feigh (Paul) goes for the 4YO hurdle over 2 miles. She was third here in November and hopefully she will get a good share of the prize money again today. She will go on the ground but does need to brush up on her jumping.

Brooklynn Glory (Paul) runs in the mares’ maiden hurdle over 2m 2f. She might have found the ground too quick when unplaced in a listed bumper here in April. Today’s conditions should be more to her liking and the longer trip will also be a help. This is her first time over hurdles and if she jumps well she should be competitive.

Blackbow (Paul) is having his first run back in the Dan & Joan Moore Memorial Handicap Chase over 2m 1f. He is hard to place with his rating and might want a longer trip nowadays. A good pace here would play to his strengths and give him a decent each-way shout.

We have two runners in the beginners chase over 2m 1f. El Barra (Sean O’Keeffe) was second to stable companion Blue Lord on his chasing debut here last month and the winner franked the form when winning again at Naas the other day. A repeat of that run should see El Barra go very close here. Saint Sam (Paul) is making his chasing debut and has schooled well at home. He ran some great races over hurdles including when second in the Fred Winter Handicap at Cheltenham. If he can transfer his hurdling ability to fences he should be seriously involved here.

Grivei (Patrick) makes his debut in the bumper. He is very well bred and is owned by Tim O’Driscoll who also owns Redemption Day who won a bumper at Leopardstown over Christmas. He works well enough at home and hopefully he will acquit himself well here.
