We have two running in the novice handicap hurdle over 2 miles. Gjoumi (Jack Foley) faces a tough assignment but hopefully Jack’s 5lb claim will be a help. Vadaly (Paul) drops in class here but she has been disappointing she came to us. She is probably best watched today.
Icare Allen (Mark Walsh) goes for the 2 mile Juvenile Hurdle. He ran a cracker when fourth to Vauban in the Triumph at Cheltenham and is a course and distance winner here. He will handle the ground and should be hard to beat.
We have two runners in the Grade 2 Hurdle over 2m 4f. Jon Snow (Brian Hayes) is returning after a long layoff and faces a tough assignment. This run should put him right for Punchestown and a summer campaign. Whiskey Sour (Paul) came back to form when winning at Leopardstown last time. He goes here with a decent chance.
We will have four runners in the Grade 2 Chase over 2m 4f. Janidil (Mark Walsh) is running here instead of waiting for Punchestown. This represents a drop in class after trying to take on Allaho at Cheltenham. If his Cheltenham exertions don’t take their toll this looks like a race he can win. Easy Game (Brian Hayes) won this race last year but has had an enforced break due to a few problems. It might be too much to ask him to win this again but it will put him in shape for an early new season campaign. Cilaos Emery (Sean O’Keeffe) is on a form recovery mission and a first four finish would be great. Blackbow (Paul) steps up in grade here but will like the ground and track and has a chance.
We have two runners in the Irish Grand National over 3m 5f. Franco De Port (Jack Foley) has a tough task with top weight and hopefully might finish in the first five or six. Gaillard Du Mesnil (Paul) ran a cracker in the Brown Advisory at Cheltenham and looks a worthy favourite here. He is in great form but it is hard for horses with over 11st 4lb to win this race.
Hunters Yarn (Patrick) runs in the winners bumper. He finished fourth in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown and then won a bumper easily at Limerick. This is obviously a very hot race but our fellow is in very good form and will like the ground and track.
