Fairyhouse 11th December

We have two runners making their chasing debuts in the 2 mile beginners chase. Paul Townend returns from injury here and has chosen Blue Lord who has schooled well at home. If he can transfer his best hurdling form to fences he could be hard to beat. El Barra (Sean O’Keeffe) is a course winner and has the benefit of point to point experience. He wasn’t as good as Blue Lord over hurdles but he has always looked like the type to do well over fences.

We also have a couple of chasing debutants in the 2m 5f beginners chase. Fighter Allen (Bryan Cooper) was generally disappointing over hurdles but this could be his game. He has been working and schooling well in preparation for this and has a good each-way chance. Stattler (Paul) has schooled nicely and will like this ground. Ideally, he would prefer a longer trip but we have been happy with him at home and we are expecting a big run.

Hi Ho Phoenix (Paul) makes his hurdling debut in the maiden hurdle over 2m 7f. He was placed in three bumpers around here and we think this longer trip is what he needs. However, it is his first run back and he is probably best watched today with an eye on the rest of the season.
