We have eight runners in the valuable Naas November Handicap over 1m 6f. Stratum (Donnacha O’Brien) has to shoulder top weight here after going up 7lbs for winning the English Cesarewitch. This is a tough ask but if any horse can do it could be him. Buildmeupbuttercup (Colin Keane) came from a long way back to finish eleventh behind Stratum in the Cesarewitch. She ran better than her finishing position would suggest and could have a good chance here. Diamond Hill (Gavin Ryan) disappointed over this trip at Bath last month but a change of riding tactics today might see better a better result. However, any more rain won’t help her chance. Joey Sheridan won the Irish Cesarewitch on Royal Illusion and the pair are reunited again here. However, a rise of 13lbs and this shorter trip might prove too much to overcome. Saglawy (Oisin Orr) finished thirteenth behind Royal Illusion at the Curragh and a change of tactics today could see him improve over this trip. Nessun Dorma (Ronan Whelan) ran too free when disappointing over 1m 4f at Leopardstown last week. We will ride him differently here and that could enable him to get into the money. Great White Shark (Declan McDonogh) got loose at the start before finishing tenth behind Stratum at Newmarket and should run a lot better here. Legal Spin (Mikey Sheehy) found the trip too short when sixth over 1m 4f at Leopardstown last time and will appreciate the extra two furlongs today.
Riven Light (Declan McDonogh) runs in the 1m 4f stakes race. He disappointed last time at Leopardstown but had a good run at Limerick before that. The uphill finish here will suit and any more rain will also be a help.
Go West Young Lad (Colin Keane) has been disappointing so far. He is third reserve for the 1m 4f maiden and is unlikely to get a run.
