Ballyward (Paul) makes his hurdling debut in the 2m 4f maiden hurdle. He was very impressive when winning his bumper over this course and distance a year ago. He shows us more on the track than he does at home and hopefully that will be the case again today.
We have two runners in the Grade 3 Mares’ Hurdle over 2m 4f. Let’s Dance (Paul) won this race last year and is again in good order. She has every chance of following up today. Karalee (David Mullins) is better in at the weights than Let’s Dance but her last run was disappointing. She needs to leave that run well behind if she is to have any chance here.
We have two in the Grade 1 Novice Chase over 2m 4f. Bon Papa (Barry Geraghty) won over 2 miles at Punchestown last time but we think that this is his trip. However, he does lack experience for a race of this quality. Rathvinden (Paul) has huge experience and has age on his side. The trip won’t be a problem and his run in the Drinmore last time puts him in here with an excellent chance.
We run two in the Ryanair Hurdle over 2 miles. Faugheen (Paul) is in great form and loves this track. As long as we have better luck than we had yesterday he should win. Cilaos Emery (David Mullins) needed the run at Fairyhouse last time and will run a lot better here.
Minella Encore (Patrick) goes for the winners’ bumper. He had a very hard race when winning at Fairyhouse and the form of that race has not worked out very well. However, the drying ground here will suit him a lot better so that may bring about the required improvement.
