Diamond Hill (Paul) goes for the 2m 5f maiden hurdle. She won a flat handicap at Bellewstown last time but has plenty of jumping experience. She has some great form around here and will have no trouble with this trip. It’s a hot race but she should run very well.

Castle North (Paul) has his first run in a handicap in the 2m 5f handicap hurdle. This trip will suit but he has to put a disappointing run at Ballinrobe last time behind him.

Buildmeupbuttercup (Patrick) runs in the 1m 4f QR maiden. She ran in some high class races in England before she came to us and this represents a fair drop in class. She was second over 2m 4f at Royal Ascot last time and should be fine over this shorter trip. We will be disappointed if she can’t impose her class on these rivals.

We will have three runners in the Galway Plate over 2m 6f. Yorkhill (Paul) in is good form at home but would prefer to be going left-handed. This trip will suit but he needs to return to his best form if he is to win this. Pravalaguna (Danny) had a good confidence boosting run over hurdles at Killarney and has a nice racing weight. Pylonthepressure (David) ran very well when just beaten at Ballinrobe last time and that gives him a good each-way chance here.

We have two runners in the 2 mile flat handicap. Scaglietti (Seamus Heffernan) won on the flat at Navan and followed up with an easy win over hurdles at Listowel last month. She is well drawn for her first handicap but it is hard to know how well she is treated with a mark of 72. Eight And Bob (Colin Keane) was second in a mile and a half handicap at Bellewstown last time and should have no problem with this longer trip. He will handle the ground and has a nice draw in stall six.
