2 Dec 2018 Race Previews

We have two runners in the Royal Bond Novice Hurdle over 2 miles. Aramon (Paul) finished four and a half lengths in front of Quick Grabim (Ruby) when winning at Navan last time. However, Quick Grabim was conceding 7lbs that day and they meet on level terms today. With that pull in the weights and different riding tactics Ruby’s mount might be able to reverse placings today.

Cadmium (Paul) goes for the Drinmore Novice Chase over 2m 4f. He has been running over shorter trips and step up in distance here could be what he needs. Hopefully the rain hasn’t got into the ground too much for him.

Undressed (Paul) runs in the 3m 5f handicap chase. He has a nice light weight and this trip will be a help. The recent rain will also be to his advantage but he needs to show significant improvement if he is to get involved at the business end.

We run four in the Hattons Grace Hurdle over 2m 4f. Bapaume (Paul) is having his first run back since winning at Auteuil in June and hopefully he might get a share of the prize money here. Shaneshill (David) is a course and distance winner but he too is having his first run back. Wicklow Brave (Patrick) likes to get things his own way but will be suited by this longer trip. Limini (Ruby) would need to be back to her best to win this. Maybe coming back over hurdles and the easier ground will do the trick.

We have six runners in the 2 mile handicap hurdle. Blazer (Jody McGarvey) ran a great race in Galway but then disappointed over fences in Listowel. He has a lot of weight here which won’t make things easy. Stratum (Paul) has been keen in his races and might lack experience for a race like this. However, he has lots of ability and could go close. Saglawy (Ruby) has been disappointing on the last couple of occasions and is having his first run back. Causey Arch (David) has a lovely weight and will love the trip and ground. Sapphire Lady (Danny) and Cut The Mustard (Brian Hayes) both might need a longer trip but they have handy weights and deserve to take their chances.

Stones And Roses (Patrick) makes his debut in the bumper. He is more a staying chaser type and we will be delighted if he finishes in the first three in what looks like a hot bumper on paper.
