15 Mar 2018 Race Previews

We have two runners in the opening JLT Novices Chase over 2m 4f. Invitation Only (Paul) ran a super race when a close third to Monalee at Leopardstown last time and that form is rock solid as the winner finished second in the RSA yesterday. He will be suited by the ground and we are confident of a big run. Kemboy (David) has been working and schooling well at home and comes here on the back of an easy win at Fairyhouse in January. He has improved a lot at home recently and is definitely in with a shout here.

Un De Sceaux (Paul) goes for the Ryanair Chase over 2m 5f. He won this race last year and we are very much hoping for a repeat performance today. The recent rain is exactly what he wants.

We have four runners in the Stayers Hurdle over 3 miles. Penhill (Paul) had a setback last summer but has been trained with this race in mind. It is a big ask to win over 3 miles on testing ground on his seasonal debut but Paul is happy to stick with him even though he could have ridden Bacardys. Let’s Dance (Danny Mullins) will have cheekpieces for the first time and hopefully they won’t light her up too much. She has worked well in them at home and she will handle this ground and trip. Bacardys (Patrick) is very fit and has schooled well but we will have to see how he handles these testing conditions. Augusta Kate (David Mullins) was second to Presenting Percy last time and has a great each-way chance here. She has plenty of stamina and will be doing her best work at the finish.

We also have four in the Dawn Run Mares Novices Hurdle over 2m 1f. Ground conditions have fallen in favour of Laurina (Paul) and will bring her stamina into play. We are very happy with her and she looks the one to beat. Salsaretta is having her first run for us but had plenty of experience in France. She is a fine strong mare and we think quite a bit of her. Cut The Mustard (Noel Fehily) will go on the ground and her jumping is improving with every run. She has each-way prospects. Pietralunga (David Mullins) is a lot better than her bare form would suggest. However, unfortunately she won’t be suited by all this recent rain.
