14 Mar 2018 Race Previews

We have four runners in the Ballymore Novices Hurdle. Next Destination (Ruby) has done everything right this season. He was a bit free last time at Naas but the faster pace here will really suit him. We think he has a big chance. Duc Des Genievres (Paul) has had only two runs for us, both in grade one races. The extra trip today will suit and he could be each-way value. Scarpeta (Danny Mullins) won in heavy ground at Gowran and the form of that race has worked out well. All this recent rain is in his favour. Brahma Bull (David Mullins) is unbeaten and has been doing very smart work at home. However, he lacks experience for a race like this.

We have two in the RSA Novices Chase over 3 miles. Al Boum Photo (Ruby) has a great chance on the form of his last two races. Bonbon Au Miel (Paul) is improving and the trip and ground will really suit.

We run five in the Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle over 2m 5f. Abbyssial (Danny Mullins) has had his training problems and this looks a big ask. Bleu Berry (Paul) ran better last time than his finishing position would suggest and has an each-way chance. Voix Du Reve (David Mullins) is fit and well and could run better than his form suggests. Max Dynamite (Ruby) will be suited by the trip but might find this ground too soft. C’est Jersey (Noel Fehily) disappointed last time and going left-handed won’t suit.

We have two in the Champion Chase over 2 miles. Ruby has picked Douvan and hopefully he is right! He has had a troubled season but his recent work has been very good. Min (Paul) has been doing all the right things but won’t beat Douvan if he can reproduce his best form.

We run five in the Champion Bumper. Blackbow (Patrick) has done nothing wrong and will like this ground. Tornado Flyer (Paul) is better than his Fairyhouse win would suggest and could be each-way value. Carefully Selected (Ruby) is improving and all this rain will be a huge advantage for him. Colreevy (David Mullins) disappointed last time and this is a tough ask. Relegate (Katie Walsh) surprised us by how good she is last time but this is a big step for her.
